Making the steering wheel.

The wheel was cut from 4mm styrene using a semi circular cutting bit.

Wooden formers were made with a very subtle dish to them for making the spokes.

Here you see the formers, the heat formed plastic dish and the part cut out of it. As you can se it is done in the rough for now, final finishing takes place when everything is glued together.

The spokes fitted to the wheel.

The spokes are glued in and some minor detail added. I mounted it on a drill for now just for ease of handling.

The spokes have been refined and the strengthening ribs glued in place.
